V.O.Chidambaranar Port Trust, inaugurated the 100 KW Grid connected Solar Power Plant on 04.09.2015

Picture2Shri. S. Anantha Chandra Bose, Chairman, V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust, inaugurated the 100 KW Grid connected Solar Power Plant at the administrative at 03:00 PM on 04.09.2015.

The solar power generated from the 100 KW Solar Power Plant installed at the roof top of the Administration building will be directly fed to Port Low Tension ( LT) grid at administrative building. The expected generation from the 100 KW solar power plant will be 1,70,455 units per annum. Further, Port has planned to establish 400 KW direct grid connect solar power plant in the Port estate. This project will lead to reduction of 119 Metric tons of carbon emission per year.

As a Green Port initiative, the port has submitted the Green Energy commitment to Ministry of shipping and thereby Port has proposed to establish Solar Power of capacity 500 KW by the year 2016.

Rajendran, Traffic Manager, Capt Amit Kapoor, Deputy Conservator, Smt. S. Shanthi, Finance Adviser and Chief Accounts Officer, Port Trustees, Port Officers and Employees graced the occasion
