Ola Launches 'Swachh Car Abhiyan' Ahead of the Swachh Bharat DiwasThe Swachh Car Abhiyan is an Initiative Taken by Ola to Encourage and Promote the Cleanliness of Cars Amongst Drivers

The Campaign is Accompanied by Recognition and Rewards for Driver Partners on the Ola App

Ahead of the ‘Swachh Bharat Diwas’ tomorrow, Ola, India’s most popular mobile app for personal transportation, today announced the launch of the ‘Swachh Car Abhiyan’ for drivers on its platform. Hundreds of thousands of driver partners on the Ola platform ranging from cabs, auto-rickshaws to taxis, offer their services to millions of customers who request a ride from the Ola app. This initiative will encourage drivers and customers alike to contribute to a cleaner India. The initiative has been taken by Ola to promote cleanliness amongst the drivers’ community. In its first phase, the initiative will be live in four major cities of the country including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata.

The Swachh Car Campaign at Ola will advance in four phases with the first two phases dedicated towards evangelizing, motivating, and incentivizing driver-partners as well as, encouraging customers to constantly share feedback around cleanliness. As part of the first two phases of this campaign, Ola will recognize and reward drivers who have consistent positive feedback on cleanliness as Swachh Car Ambassadors. To help all drivers continue to maintain cleanliness in-cab, Ola will hand out free Swachh Car kits and enable free car cleaning at its partner relationship centers across these cities. Considering cleanliness as an imperative, the feedback given by customer on the driver will be composite of the cleanliness level of cars, based on which drivers will earn their incentives. The next two phases will involve spreading the message of a cleaner India with large partnerships as well as, implementation of technology to crowd source quality audits at scale.

Speaking about the initiative, Pranay Jivrajka, Chief Operating Officer at Ola said, “At Ola, we take extreme care towards helping driver partners deliver consistent experience to customers, beyond the technology platform. Training, audit and cleanliness has always been at the forefront for improved customer experience and is integral to skilling our partners as professionals in the long run. We join the country in promoting the message of cleanliness on this august occasion and we are confident that drivers and customers will participate in this on-going program by doing their bit.”

Ola has always adopted measures which are in coherence with a cleaner ecosystem by first-of-its-kind initiatives like training, audit and standardization of vehicles registered on the platform. Ola also allows customers to share instant feedback to enable quality checks as and when required. Earlier last month, the company announced the implementation of a first-of-its-kind technology on its app in the state of Delhi, to proactively distinguish vehicles based on fuel type and giving users the option to choose only CNG cars for travel within the state, resulting in considerable reduction of carbon footprint from driver partners in the state.
